WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IN THE EVENT OF ACCIDENT/LOSS/INJURY/DAMAGE?

Be calm

If there are injuries, call 999 for assistance
Take all steps to minimize the extent of the loss or damage

NON-MOTOR


Liability Claim

The following circumstances will require you to take necessary action:

When a third party has notified you of a claim intention to claim against you. When you are aware of any circumstances that may give rise to a claim

Please inform Commerce Assurance as soon as possible

Please lodge a police report immediately (if any)
Take photographs of the scene including any potential injuries and/or property damage of the third party immediately after the occurrence of the accident
If there are injuries, call 999 for assistance
Take all steps to minimize the extent of the loss or damage
Do not discuss any settlement or compensation without a written consent from Commerce Assurance


Property Damage

The following circumstances will require you to take necessary action:

When involving lightning, fire, flood, windstorm, explosion, windstorm or any other acts of God.

Please inform Commerce Assurance as soon as possible

Please lodge a police report immediately (if any)
Please inform the relevant parties such as Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance and/or local municipals
If there are injuries, call 999 for assistance
Take all steps to minimize the extent of the loss or damage
Suffice adjuster appointed, please cooperate with Commerce Assurance appointed investigator/adjuster
 
Personal Accident

The following circumstances will require you to take necessary action:

Non Fatal

Please complete and return the claim form together with the requested documents

Suffice serious injuries involve, please send the person injured to the clinic or hospital
Where medical expenses are covered under the Policy, they shall only payable if the attending doctor is licensed and registered as prescribed under the Medical Act

Fatal

Please inform Commerce Assurance as soon as possible

Please lodge a police report immediately (if any)
Please provide the death certificate, burial permit and post-mortem report (if any)
Complete and return claim form supported by all relevant documents as requested
Suffice no beneficiary is named in the certificate, the dependants of the deceased and/or administrator (s) of the estate of the deceased should also provide further proof of dependency and/or letter of administration of the estate of the deceased.
