| The American Insurance Company
(under AFIA world wide insurance) began
its operations in Malaysia. |

| Year 1980 |
| In line with the New Economic Policy (NEP),
a joint venture agreement was signed between
AFIA which held a 49% equity interest and
The Fleet Group Sdn Bhd with a 51% controlling
interest. This resulted in the emergence
of The American Malaysian Insurance Sdn
Bhd in June 1980. |

| Year 1984 |
| CIGNA, a conglomerate in the United States
bought over AFIA and sold its entire equity
in AMI to The Fleet Group Sdn Bhd. The American
Malaysian Insurance Sdn Bhd was wholly owned
and controlled by The Fleet Group Sdn Bhd
since then. |

| Year 1987 |
| In April 1987 The Fleet Group transferred
its entire shareholding in The American
Malaysian Insurance Sdn Bhd to The New Straits
Times Press (Malaysia) Bhd. The shares were
held through Pitisan Sdn Bhd a wholly owned
subsidiary of NSTP. |

| Year 1994 |
| In November 1994, The American Malaysian
Insurance Sdn Bhd was converted to a public
limited company and is known as The American
Malaysian Insurance Bhd. |

| Year 1999 |
| On 11th June 1999, the name was changed
to AMI Insurans Bhd. |
| |
| Year 2004 |
| In February 2004, New Straits Times Press
( Malaysia ) Berhad disposed 100% of AMI
Insurans Bhd to Commerce Asset Holding Berhad. |

| Year 2005 |
| On 4th February 2005, AMI Insurans Berhad
company's name has been changed to Commerce
Assurance Berhad. The new corporate logo
established signifies a strategic move to
strengthen our business position as A Member
of Commerce Asset-Holding Berhad Group of
Companies. |

| Year 2006 |
Commerce International Group Berhad took
full ownership of CAB on
23 January 2006. |
| |
| Year 2007 |
Allianz
Malaysia took full ownership of CAB
from 28 August 2007.
